Production of hot-rolled coils

Hot-rolled coil (wide strip) products are produced by semi-continuous or continuous hot-rolling mills. Continuously cast or rolled slabs made of carbon, low-alloy and alloy steel grades are used as a semi-finished product to make steel coils.

HRC production stages:

  • Heating the slab for rolling in a reheating furnace

  • Hydraulic descaler to remove scale from the surface of the feedstock

  • Rolling in roughing and finishing

  • Monitoring the cooling of the rolled strips

  • Winding the finished products on down-coilers

  • Finishing the hot-rolled steel coils, cutting, acceptance, packaging, labelling
